Similarities and Differences in 3 Music Videos.

Counting Stars By One Republic, this music video consists of the viewer swapping between the band playing the song and to a crocodile walking around an abandoned basement and a evangelical healing session with all these people. - folk rock

Keep your eyes open By NEEDTOBREATHE, this music video shows us the viewer different scenes to do with our eyesight to keep in context with the song title, by showing us eyes, different instruments that opticians use and difference settings used on the music video to confuse our eyes. - alternative rock

Sugar By Maroon 5, This music video consists of following the band round the city as they crash as many weddings as they possibly can and showing their reactions to them crashing the wedding. - pop rock

Similarities and Differences
The similarities these three music videos all have is that they always show the band performing the song in the video. In the song counting stars we periodically flip back to the band singing the song from the other scene happening in  the music video. In keep your eyes open song we see the band throughout the whole music video but we have certain moments where you see the whole band performing the song. In the song sugar you see the band through out the music video again but only see them all performing together when there crashing the weddings. Another thing that these three music videos have in common is that the music genre is rock but, since there are so many different types of rock this also shows these bands differences. As One Republic has been described as many different genres including rock, pop and indie showing the difference to the other two music genre. NEEDTOBREATHE have also been described as a variety of different genres including rock, alternative rock and christian rock. Again with Maroon 5 it has been described as pop rock and pop.
Another thing that is in common with all these music videos is that they all have other scenes happening in the video part rom them singing the song in the and together, which shows variety and makes the video more interesting as the viewer also gets to see something else part from the band playing.

Music Video Genre

Music Video
There are many different genre's of music videos depending on who the artist is, for example theres rock music, Pop music, Country music and indie music.

The genre rock music genre tends to consist of loud and screamo music to represent that the artists in this genre are different from everyone else and then they tend to get a rebellious status because of their music. The cons of doing a Rock music video would be that it might be difficult to find the right place to film the rock video to se the theme and genre of this music video, as well with making people look like there in a rock music video.

The genre Pop music tends to consist of upbeat and happy music as its aimed mostly at young teenagers  who enjoy that sort of music. The pros of doing pop music video is that it wouldn't be hard to find someone where to film to fit the mood of the music, be easier to create a story to the music video since its so upbeat and happy. The cons of doing a pop music video is that

The genre country music is mostly people singing with an instrument as presented and shown in many country songs, the most common is a guitar to give the cowboy living on the ranch mood to the music.
The pros of doing a country music video is that you can create a story to the music easier instead of filming someone mouthing the words. The cons would be possibly finding someone who could mouth the words and play guitar at the same time or another instrument to fit within the context of the song.

The genre of Indie music is independent music which is usually produced from major commercial labels , a process that may include a do-it-yourself approach to recording and publishing. The pros of doing an indie song for a music video are that it would probably be easier to ask the music company permission to use the song as it will be smaller than most companies considerings its independent. The cons would be that if its a do-it-yourself record and publish song then the quality of the song may be poor.
